Therapies Explained

Herbal  Medicine

The use of plants as medicine has a long history around the world. Humans have been using plants in teas, ground into powders and steeped in wine to successfully treat a wide variety of ailments. Here, at The Sacred Tree we use a range of traditional Chinese herbal formulae and the more common herbs familiar to Western herbalism. Formulas are put together based on the needs of the individual and can  be prescribed either as a tea, concentrated granules or herbs in an alcohol base, known as a tincture. All our tinctures are made by our herbalist on the premises using organic ethanol and all our herbs are sourced from reputable suppliers in the UK and adhere to the current regulations of the European directive. When prescribed by  a trained professional, they provide a safe and effective method of treating both adults and children.

What  is  Acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine
needles into specific points on the body to regulate
the flow of ‘Qi’, your body’s vital energy. Various lifestyle and environmental factors can cause Qi to become depleted or blocked, which can then result in symptoms of pain, illness or disease.
In certain instances, traditional acupuncture can be an effective therapy to help restore balance and promote physical and emotional harmony. Treatment is aimed at the root cause of your condition,as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving imbalance and enhancing your feeling
of wellbeing. You may also notice other niggling problems
resolve as your main health complaint improves.
